“Use your indoor voice” Does that sound familiar to anyone? Why is it that adults always want children to be polite while the truth is that adults are often worse than kids.
No matter where in the world you go out for dinner, you can always spot the Americans in the room. They are the ones yelling at the top of their lungs in an restaurant as if the whole place belonged to them. Is it any wonder we have a bad reputation abroad?
A dinner out in New York City is not small change. Nothing irks me more than when I am out on the town at a glamorous restaurant, and I canʼt even hear myself think because the people at the next table are yelling above not only the music, but also everyone else in the place.
They send a message: “This space is ours, we are more important than anyone else, our conversation is so interesting itʼs on display for the whole establishment.”
